Ursula Futura is a collaborator by instinct.
We've blown carafes for Vöslauer out of their own recycled bottles. We've made a capsule with Common Sense. We've made a full-octopus scarf with Atie. We've made vases with Andrea Kollar about femininity and fluidity.
Sometimes the glass goes places without us. Zanotta took our pieces to Salone del Mobile for their booth. We like both kinds of collaborations.
If you have a quirky idea, write to kathrin@ursulafutura.com.
Tell me the idea, the material, the weird thing you want to see exist.
I read everything and I answer everything.
VÖSLAUER
Good things should always come back. That was the starting point.
Vöslauer sent us their used glass bottles. We heated them, shaped them by hand, blew them, pressed them, turned them. What came out is a three-piece carafe collection called Vesele (Bubble, Organic, Shape) plus two glasses and a bottle cap.
Each carafe remembers it used to be a bottle. You can almost see it.
The "Vesele" collection is exclusively available in the Vöslauer Design Shop!
ANDREA KOLLAR X URSULA FUTURA
This one started with a conversation about transformation.
Andrea makes work about femininity. Ursula makes work about fluidity. We put those two things in a room together and the result was a series of vases. Each one carries a trace of that conversation. Each one says something slightly different.
